Donald Snyder, Founder and President of Whiskey Resources LLC and Whiskey Systems Online, has more than 12 years of experience in the alcohol and beverage industry including holding senior management roles at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY and MGPI in Lawrenceburg, IN. While working at the Buffalo Trace Distillery, Donald automated manual legacy operation tracking systems, simplified the required departmental government reporting processes, and survived numerous and regular TTB Audits. After leaving the corporate world to help the growing craft distilling industry, Donald created Whiskey Systems Online to help craft distilleries of all sizes create start up business models and road maps, barrel warehouse management interfaces, simple to use automated distillery operations tracking tools, automated TTB Monthly Reporting and Compliance systems, and business management solutions.

Over the last decade, Donald has developed strong relationships with alcohol-focused service providers at all ends of the supply chain. Donald earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and his Master’s in Business Administration from University of Kentucky. He has taught several lectures on various craft distilling subjects such as Barrel Maturation, Proofing, Bottling, Filtering, and TTB Compliance and Reporting at the Moonshine University, Six & Twenty Distiller’s Class, MB Rolland’s Camp Distillery, and the ADI Annual Conferences. Donald travels extensively across the country providing training, distillery development, startup assistance, support for Whiskey Systems Online as well as providing on-site, confidential internal audits to ensure a distillery’s past reports and systems are 100% compliant.

Carla Snyder, VP/Office Manager of Whiskey Systems Online, brings years of marketing and customer support experience to the team. After graduating with her Marketing degree from University of Kentucky, Carla worked in product development and innovation for the IB Moore Company in Lexington, KY. Later, Carla worked as a Customer Service Leader at the Ashland Inc. providing support and resolution to customers across the country. Today Carla ensures a smooth back office for Whiskey Systems Online and connects with craft distillers across the country to see how Whiskey Systems Online can help their teams save time and stay compliant with federal regulations and reporting.

Jack Sigan, Principal Engineer for Whiskey Systems Online, worked at Motorola Solutions for ten years as a systems and software engineer, engineering manager, and software architect in the field of government and public safety voice and data networks. He worked extensively on full stack development of systems used for mission-critical communication networks and led the development of tools used to monitor, upgrade, and support these systems across the world. Developing systems to maximize reliability and maintain compliance with numerous internal and federal security guidelines and industry best-practices has been a critical component of Jack’s career. Jack has earned recognition on numerous occasions for his software projects, and has presented at multiple national engineering symposiums and training events.

Jack now brings his development skills and infrastructure experience to oversee the design, development, and testing of Whiskey Systems Online. He also plays an active part in supporting client distilleries for problem solving and issue resolution. Jack earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering magna cum laude at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.

Rich Zurek, Support Engineer for Whiskey System Online, worked at Motorola Solutions for twenty-nine years. Rich spent the last fourteen years creating system integration tools for engineers to design, cable, and test mission critical communication systems. Rich, an award winning developer, was recognized at a national engineering symposium for his cutting-edge interface to share design tools with an entire company. Rich brings his passion for automating mundane and error prone tasks to Whiskey Systems Online so distillers can spend more time on value added tasks and making world class spirits. Rich earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with honors from Roosevelt University and is a US Air Force veteran.

After graduating with a degree in Food Science from the University of Vermont, James went on to get his Master’s in Brewing and Distilling from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK. Having formerly worked as Head Distiller at Litchfield Distillery, he now brings his ten years of experience in Brewing/Distilling Operations, Small Business Startup, and TTB Reporting/Compliance to support Whiskey Systems and its Users.

Randall Buxbaum, National Sales Manager for Whiskey Resources, LLC, has over 25 years of experience as a senior manager in the Supply Chain and Operations arena. He has worked for Fortune 100 companies as well as start-ups. During his career, Randall was frequently a subject matter expert on production and inventory management systems including SAP, Manhattan, Red Prairie as well as proprietary systems. He’s worked with development teams to design and implement new systems capabilities and enhancements in large production and distribution environments.

 

For the past 7 years, Randall has been working in the wine and spirits business, helping producers and suppliers with their logistics, inventory management, and compliance matters. One of the projects he led was the selection and implementation of a production and reporting system at a well-established craft distillery. That experience gave him a clear understanding of the available systems and which one delivered the best functionality and value for the enterprise.

In his role at Whiskey Resources LLC, Randall works to help distillers understand the features and benefits of Whiskey Systems. His interaction with the users provides valuable input on what works well along with potential enhancements as Whiskey Systems continues to improve and evolve. Randall is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and has an MBA from Wright State University in Dayton, OH.

Jennifer Norris, Customer Relationship Supervisor for Whiskey Systems Online, has been part of the wine and spirits industry since 2003. She has worked in various roles at both the producer and distributor levels managing purchasing, importing and compliance. Most recently, she transitioned from winery compliance to distillery compliance where she helped a start-up distillery bring a new product line to market in less than 2 months. After doing months of manual TTB reporting for the distillery, she began using the original version of Whiskey Systems tools in 2014 then later transitioned her team over to Whiskey Systems Online. Jennifer now brings her vast knowledge of TTB compliance and reporting to the Whiskey Systems team and will provide front line customer support and training. Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Commerce and Business Administration from the University of Alabama.

Richard Wolf, managing principal of Wolf Consulting LLC, specializes in the beverage alcohol and allied industries. As the former VP General Manager at Sazerac Co. (Buffalo Trace Distillery), he was responsible for organizational transformation, strategic sourcing, and corporate development, which facilitated and contributed to a seven-fold growth in revenue in six years. Wolf’s 30 years experience in the beverage industry has been broad and varied, to include mergers & acquisitions, business development, national account management, lean process re-engineering, supply chain optimization, new product development, systems implementation, green-field plant construction and union contract negotiation.

John is the co-owner, Master Distiller and Vice President of Smooth Ambler Spirits in Maxwelton, WV. John brings a variety of experiences to the WS Advisory board including knowledge of grain to glass distillation and sourcing spirits management. John brings a strict TTB compliance and record keeping mantra to the table and ensures Whiskey Systems is as transparent and auditable, as it is easy to use.

Chris is the Owner and Master Distiller at Coulter and Payne Distillery in St. Louis, MO. Chris is responsible for managing all daily operations, including production, legal, and financial operations. Chris brings his experience of managing a seed to bottle Farm Distillery to the WS Advisory Board stressing the importance of record keeping for small-batch, craft distilled spirits using environmentally friendly, sustainable methods and tracking locally sourced, farm grown ingredients, from his own farm. Chris is also an attorney and provides legal consultation for Whiskey Systems. Chris is the author of “101 Uses for Moonshine”

Jim was the Head Distiller and Co-Owner of Do Good Distillery in Modesto, CA. Jim managed the day-to-day distillery operations including grain sourcing, fermentation, distillation, barrel inventory, bottling, case sales, and gift shop management. Jim brought a wealth of brewing and distillation operations experience to the advisory board to ensure Whiskey Systems can handle tracking both in-house and contract manufacturing.
